In the run-up to London 2012, the Olympic torch will travel through Doncaster. Why not capture the excitement of Olympic year with an exciting sports-arts combined workshop in your school?

darts is offering schools in Doncaster the chance to work with a professional performing artist and a professional sports coach to have a go at an Olympic or Paralympic sport and explore the Olympic values which include respect, excellence, friendship and equality.

Each activity will have a direct link to either numeracy or literacy targets and will provide inspiration for teachers to follow up in subsequent lessons.

• creating your own Olympic song
• choreographing your own opening ceremony
• creating your own Olympic torch
• handball
• table tennis
• football

The final touches will be bespoke to your school but will be exciting, inspiring and not to be missed! 

Costs: (excludes any visual arts materials)

Half day: £240 - For a half day a class will experience a sporting activity, linked with a numeracy task and a creative activity linked to a literacy task. 

Full day: £320 - Working with the same class we can develop their understanding further or can repeat the morning activities with a different class.

Six sessions over a half term (or an intensive week): £1,350 - Each lesson will explore a different sport and artistic approach. Working alongside a teacher, learning aims and objectives will be set and met through sports and arts activities acting as the stimulus. There will be tasks for teachers to follow up each week. Classes who benefit from this investment will discover how to be the best they can be, how to want to win yet be respectful, how to explore their physical potential and push their creativity. This will be a transformational half term for these young people as they work intensively with new faces to discover new skills.
