| Artists will be using the arts to engage with people on the Cathedral Estate. |

Funding has been confirmed from the Community Action Against Crime: Innovation Fund to go ahead with a 15-month piece of work which will see darts’ artists using creative activities to tackle anti-social behavior on the Cathedral Estate. We will use our extensive experience of engaging people in their own communities to:
- Build the courage and confidence of local residents so they can and will challenge the negative and positively take charge of what is happening on their streets.
- Provide exciting creative activity which engages those involved in anti-social behaviour, gets them to consider their actions and the consequences - and to change.
- Work creatively and therapeutically with the families on positive parenting, family life and role modelling so that they too will change and support and encourage change.
Work starts in February. Activities planned include:
- Spectacles on Street Corners - activities to grab attention and engage people - using circus skills/ music/ djing/ street dance/ street visual art.
- Projects to physically transform community spaces and use them for creative community activity.
- Great Escapes: visits to the outside world - trips to 'cultural' venues and one to a community that is using arts activities/outcomes to develop their community.
