National Lottery funding for The Point to improve facilities
The Point will benefit from National Lottery funding to improve facilities and make it more accessible.

Great news! Our successful application to Arts Council England for National Lottery funding means we can now go ahead with our plans to improve facilities at The Point and create some new indoor and outdoor workshop spaces for visitors to enjoy.

We plan to improve lighting in the studio space, repurpose the crèche into a therapeutic indoor/ outdoor educational room, a new garden workshop area and enhance the gallery programme by improving light control and access to the mezzanine level.

Duncan Robertshaw, Co-director at darts said: "These changes will make The Point fit for our work today and in the future. The changes will be of great benefit to audiences who visit the gallery and cafe, the groups of Doncaster people who get creative in our four walls every day and  the artists who deliver and exhibit here."

Cluny Macpherson, Regional Director, Arts Council England said: “We are delighted to be supporting darts’ redevelopment of its base at The Point with funding from the National Lottery. It means that even more people in Doncaster will have the opportunity to take part in relevant and accessible arts activities right on their doorstep. The project will also help darts to play an even bigger role in the cultural life of the town at an exciting time for Doncaster. Cast – the town’s new performance venue opens this summer and Doncaster is also receiving £2.5 million over the next three years through our Creative People and Places programme to help make creative activity part of everyone’s lives.”
