Tucked away in a corner of Mexborough is a little piece of paradise. Run by committed volunteers, Just A.S.K is a community allotment project working with local groups, growing produce and running activities.
Artists from darts helped a group of young people to convert an old caravan into a Double Digits Den – a haven for older children to shelter from the elements or just relax after working on the plots. They painted the outside camouflage style and used various creative techniques to transform the interior, from renovating an old filing cabinet to a decorating a coffee table with images of things found on an allotment. Outside, colourful windmills peer out amongst the plants, and bunting dances in the breeze.
