A day of creative, environmentally focused activities for all ages

Throughout the day there were creative family workshops, evolving artworks, stalls run by local environmental and green groups, wild food to taste, awareness raising films and food growing expertise on hand.
The day was a creative exploration of how we can make real changes to live in a more interconnected and sustainable way.
Programme
The Café at the Point was open for lunch preparing dishes using produce grown at The Point in the Patch Garden.

Drop in practical living workshops including:
• How to forage and feast on wild food
• Grow your own food the natural way
• ‘Seeing With New Eyes’ evolving art activities with Encounters
• Learn about the art of bee keeping and sample a range of bee products
• Information stalls and films

A Little Patch of Ground Performance
Between April and July 2010 Encounters worked with people from Doncaster to grow a unique vegetable garden at the Point and create a multi–media performance about peoples’ relationships with the wider natural world.
Edible produce, objects, images, songs, samples of soil, personal stories and future visions were drawn together and cross-fertilised for this performance, enhanced by darts’ own Quirky Choir.
