Dads and grandads get groovy

Rhythm and Tunes is a music project for dads, grandads and their children in Denaby and Conisbrough.

This project is part of the DFES Parents as Partners scheme and aims to engage dads and grandads in making music with the children in their families. Sessions were run in schools and nurseries to increase awareness of the importance of singing with young children. Children developed an understanding of rhyme and rhythm to support reading and writing activities and creativity.

Everyone involved in the project contributed to the creation of a CD which was then used across Doncaster Schools and Nurseries to develop communication, language and literacy for young children.
