Everybody has the potential to be enterprising. Creative Strides - Improving Access to Enterprise uses visual arts and drama to unlock that potential. The programme started in January with a group of ambitious people who wanted to move on from their current situation. By being reflective and acknowledging the skills they already have the participants are able to express their aspirations. During the sessions the participants will develop a creative action plan to visualise and formulate their goals for the future.
darts is working with a variety of organisations who provide long term support to help participants work towards the realisation of their ambitions.
Creative Strides - Improving Access to Enterprise is part of Success Doncaster a £19 million Council-led initiative that is promoting enterprise among local residents and businesses. (For more information please see www.successdoncaster.co.uk)
Creativity and the development of creative industries are a significant part of the initiative. During the three years of the programme 300 people from the most deprived neighbourhoods across the Borough had the chance to access tailor-made creative programmes based on their specific needs.
These could be based around personal needs (e.g. building self-confidence), group needs (e.g. team-building skills) or work specific needs (e.g. project management) with the overall aim of supporting them to develop enterprising behaviour.
