darts brings the arts to Oxfam Climate Hearing

I hear thunder... I hear thunder..!

Musician Janet Wood took two primary schools from Bentley on a voyage across the musical seas!
Janet worked with Bentley Toll Bar and Bentley New Village to create their very own musical story of how they experienced the floods of Doncaster in 2007. The piece was performed as part of Oxfam’s Climate Hearing Event at Bentley Pavilion on Friday 27th November.

As part of Oxfam’s worldwide campaign to get people thinking about climate change, the children performed in giant origami boats, decked out with wellies and bright umbrellas!

Rain... Rain... go away!

Visual artist Caroline Gaytor created an installation of mini Bentley boats for visitors to add their own ideas about how we can help ourselves and improve climate change for the better. Local residents and climate campaigners attended the event to hear Ed Milliband, minister for Climate Change, and share their stories and experiences.

The hearing in Doncaster is just one of many meetings organised by Oxfam across the world to highlight climate change issues ahead of the landmark UN meeting in Copenhagen where world leaders will meet to agree a new global deal on tackling climate change. To find out more please click here.
