OUR WORK / Youth Engagement

Positive Futures for young people in Doncaster

The Positive Futures programme aims to help young people from deprived communities steer clear of crime, drug and alcohol misuse and move forward in their lives.

Positive Futures has 116 projects for young people aged 10-19 running across England and Wales.
At the heart of Positive Futures is a strong commitment to reaching young people ‘where they are’, building relationships of respect and trust and supporting young people to succeed.

In most cases, sports like football, basketball and tennis are used to engage with young people in their communities with the arts sometimes being used to complement the project.

darts runs the only arts-only based Positive Futures project in the country, using visual arts like graffiti art, circus skills and music to engage with young people in Doncaster. Since our work with Positive Futures began we have worked with at total of 583 young people – with 348 participations since April 2009.
