ArtyEd online

Hello Busy Teachers!

An arts workshop from darts (Doncaster Community Arts) could be just the thing to get your new year off to a creative start. This edition of ArtyEd offers you a great range of workshops at really good prices due to support we receive from DMBC – make sure your school takes advantage!

Many of the workshops on offer make use of recycled materials at a time when we are all trying to be green. These workshops could also help with any Eco-Schools targets you may be trying to hit.

Please take a look at the workshops on offer and feel free to get in touch if you want to book a workshop or would like more information.

Best wishes

Fluffy feelings and touchy felt

Visual Arts - The early years foundation stage

Using all our senses with touchy-feely, fluffy fleece and a variety of smelly natural fibres to add texture, the group will explore the traditional craft of felt making with artist Susan Forbes. Together you will make rainbow coloured 2D and 3D felt creations. This involves playing with hot soapy water, lots of pulling, rubbing, rolling, rinsing and squeezing while learning lots of new ways of working both together and individually, expressing ourselves with a new language of words and feelings whilst being curious and having fun!

The children can get creative threading and weaving a range of materials around the wheel – a great way to develop fine motor skills. The end result... a total transformation from dirty dull wheel to exciting colourful wheel of fortune! The finished work can be hung easily on the wall or from the ceiling to decorate your school. The bike wheels will be provided for free by the artist but there will be additional costs for other materials.
