Dance On: join our fun dancing workshops for over 50s!

We are delighted to be a part of Dance On, a new initiative creating dance programmes across Doncaster, Leeds and Bradford.

The initiative is funded by Sports England and we are working alongside Yorkshire Dance and One Dance UK in order to establish new dance groups for older people. The sessions are open to everyone aged 50+.

The focus will be on fun and socialising¬†– don’t worry about not knowing the steps, remembering routines, getting put on the spot, or how flexible you need to be! These dance groups will be about playing, moving in new ways and most of all enjoying yourself. You’ll try new things, develop your confidence in a supportive, friendly environment, and explore the world of dance with the help of various dancers and artists.

Have you ever sat at home watching Strictly Come Dancing and wished that you could join in? If so these could be the perfect sessions for you!

Dance On at The Point

To kick things off, we have set up some sessions to be held here at The Point on Tuesday mornings, 11am to 12pm. These sessions will led by our brilliant and friendly Dance Artist Charlotte who will make you feel welcome regardless of your level of ability.

The first session you attend will be free, and after that there will be a small charge of £3 per session.

If you or any of your friends over 50 would like to come along, please contact Amy on 01302 558041 or email to book your place.

Dance On elsewhere

As the aim of Dance On is to set up as many sustainable dance groups for older people as possible, we are on the hunt for additional partners and community groups who might be keen to get involved!

If you’re an adult over 50 who would love to get involved, but can’t make the Tuesday morning sessions, or if The Point is not a convenient venue for you, why not work with us to set up another group?

If you want to experience what the sessions are like, you are welcome to come along to a Tuesday morning as a taster. Charlotte will be on hand after the session to discuss the possibility of starting your own group and she can support you through this process.

The same applies if you have a pre-existing network of people who you think might be interested in joining a group like this. Contact Charlotte on for more information or to discuss how you can get involved with Dance On.
