Ensemble 360 & narrator Polly Ives return to Cast in Spring 2019

Nurseries and schools are invited to take part in the new Giddy Goat music project

Ensemble 360 and narrator Polly Ives have become firm favourites with children aged 3 – 7 years, with brilliant newly commissioned pieces of music by Children’s Composer in Residence Paul Rissmann. Recent successes include The Chimpanzees of Happytown and Stan and Mabel.

This year the musical story follows the trials and tribulations of Giddy, a young mountain goat who is scared of heights. Based on the colourful children’s book by Jamie Rix and Lynne Chapman, with specially composed music by Paul Rissmann, this tale of facing fears and making friends is an ideal way to introduce children aged 3-7 years to classical music.

On Thursday 7th March 2019, hundreds of children and teachers from across the area will join together for two schools’ concerts at Cast. Presented by the world-class musicians of Ensemble 360 and Polly Ives, the concert will be packed full of highly engaging live classical music, illustrations from the book and lots of audience participation.

Music has so many benefits for children’s development and learning, their literacy, numeracy, confidence, self-awareness and so much more. This project gives you the resources and ideas you need to put music at the heart of your curriculum. It’s also a load of fun!

Previous projects have sold out. Act now to book your places on this year’s project!
