Ensemble 360 & narrator Polly Ives return to Cast in March 2020

Nurseries and schools are invited to take part in the Sir Scallywag music project

Meet all the requirements of the NC with expert support and give your children the chance to hear and watch amazing musicians perform. - Early Years Music Curriculum Leader

Sign up for Music in the Round’s musical project based on the popular children’s book ‘Sir Scallywag and the Battle of Stinky Bottom’ by Giles Andreae and Korky Paul. With many links to the curriculum, the project is an ideal way to introduce children aged 3-7 years to classical music. It’s also a lot of fun!

A free CPD training session will take place at The Point on Thursday 23rd January 2020 from 4.30pm – 6pm. This free session for all practitioners involved in the project will provide training, audio and visual resources and practical support in how to incorporate the story and music into your nursery or school’s curriculum. Learn the songs (no singing experience required!), explore cross-curricular activities and develop your skills and confidence in making music.

On Friday 13th March 2020, join hundreds of children and teachers from across the area for a fun, informal and interactive concert at Cast. Performed by Music in the Round’s resident musicians, Ensemble 360, and narrator Polly Ives, the concert will be packed full of highly engaging live classical music, projections of pictures from the story and lots of audience participation.

Performances will take place at 10.30am or 1.30pm and will last approximately 55 minutes. Tickets are £3 per child; accompanying staff FREE. Previous projects have sold out, so email amy@thepoint.org.uk now to secure your tickets!
